World Record Attempt Pipetting - Nanobiology
We are Bastiaan, Elise, Jesse, Mijke, and Tom: 5 Nanobiology students at TU Delft and Erasmus University in Rotterdam. For 9 years, our study association, S.V.N.B. Hooke, has been organizing various activities for Nanobiology students, both social and career-oriented. As board members and former board members of the study association, we have devoted ourselves to this cause and are always searching for ways to improve our association even further.
One of the biggest challenges we face as an association is the lack of awareness of our study and our association. We have noticed that many companies have no idea what Nanobiology entails and therefore underestimate the potential of Nanobiology students to contribute to their business. With only 9 years under our belt, this is not surprising. However, it is crucial to change this, as this lack of awareness often leads to companies not wanting to collaborate with our study association. This, in turn, makes it harder for Nanobiology students to orient themselves towards their future careers, which is, of course, unacceptable!
What Nanobiology needs is a large-scale event that will put the study on the map, both nationally and internationally! That is why on Saturday, June 3, we are organizing a World Record Attempt where at least 250 people will simultaneously pipette. At this event, professors will also speak about Nanobiological research and the field of study, providing a clear and accurate picture of what the study entails. We want to do everything in our power to introduce everyone to our beautiful study, and that's where we need your help!
With this fundraising campaign we will make the worldrecord an official Guinness worldrecord! We are also raising money for a professionally made aftermovie. This aftermovie will take our promotion to the next level, helping to further promote Nanobiology. With this fundraising we will also habilitate shirts for all participants. This way everyone will have a special commemoration of the event.
If there is money left after the event it will be donated tot the Sophia Children Hospital in Rotterdam!
The Nanobiology field is grateful to you!
